Chicken Mushroom Carbonara with Ragu

Chicken Mushroom Carbonara 017a

Pasta is a “staple” around our house.  We usually eat it at least once a week, so when I received the opportunity to write a post for Ragu…I was thrilled.  Since we usually have spaghetti with meat sauce, I thought it would be nice to try the Ragu Classic Alfredo.

I LOVE Alfredo sauce and order something with it almost every time we go to an Italian restaurant.  I have made it at home, but as my children have gotten older and “busier”, I don’t always have time.  Ragu Classic Alfredo is perfect!  It’s smooth and creamy, just like homemade (maybe better?)  I think if my family hadn’t known it was Ragu, they would have thought it was homemade.

I took a classic Fettuccine Carbonara recipe and made it my own by omitting the green peas and adding chicken and mushrooms to get… Chicken Mushroom Carbonara.  Everyone really enjoyed it…even those who were a little reluctant to try it.  What’s not to love about creamy sauce with chicken and bacon? Before dinner was over, everyone was discussing how good it was and thinking of other “twists” we could try with it.

Ragu has always been my favorite spaghetti sauce and now with this Classic Alfredo there’s so many more quick and easy dishes to love!  Visit Ragu Sauce on Facebook for more of their quick and easy, authentic Italian recipes.

The only thing better than eating Italian food at home would be eating it IN Italy!  Right now Ragu is giving away lots of great authentic Italian themed prizes…including a grand prize trip for 4 to Italy!  Head over to www.RaguSweeps.com now to sign up.  Each week a wonderful new prize will be given away.

Here’s the Recipe for our family’s New Tra-Dish

What a great dish idea- I’m so glad you removed the peas because peas are so gross, lol. I’m definitely heading over to Ragu’s page now. I could use a trip to Italy!

We eat a lot of pasta here too. I love chicken alfredo! I’d probably have to leave the mushrooms out though because my husband will not eat them lol. I pinned this recipe so i can try it next week!

Yes Nikki, I get it about the mushrooms. My kids don’t care for them either. I usually only use a couple and leave them in big pieces so they can pick them out…and give them to one of us. Thanks for stopping by and pinning…enjoy!
