TST Cleaning microwave

Have you ever opened the microwave to find someone re-heated spaghetti?  The splatter is unmistakable.  And have you further opened to find this splatter baked on because no one bothered to clean it up and the microwave was used several time since?

I can’t believe I just showed you our dirty microwave.  Please tell me I’m not the only one this has happened to.

On today’s Time Saving Tuesday I’m going to give you the quickest and Best Way to Clean a Microwave.  I’ve been doing this for years and it really works.  I think I saw it on a morning show or some place like that.

You only need two things….water and a glass measuring cup.  I don’t recommend plastic as it may melt.

First, fill the measuring cup (I use a 1 cup) to the top with water

Microwave on high for 5 minutes

Yes, the water will boil and splatter all over the microwave….that’s what you want

A bowl could be used but the shape of the measuring cup allows this to work better.

Remove measuring cup, using caution….it will be VERY HOT!

Take a damp cloth and wipe out the inside.  No matter how much or how baked on the mess was, it will easily wipe away.

Great tip! I usually use lemon juice and vinegar. It works, too. It leaves microwave fresh and clean. Thank you for sharing your post. Best regards!

I’ve done this adding a little vinegar to the water – it works so well!
