Welcome to my first (and possibly last) Wordless Wednesday.  

I’m not sure how far I will get with the “wordless” but here it goes…Blueberry Buckle.

Ingredients
  1. 3/4 cup sugar
  2. 1/2 cup shortening
  3. 1 egg
  4. 2 cups all purpose flour
  5. 2 1/2 tsp baking powder
  6. 1/4 tsp salt
  7. 1/2 cup milk
  8. 2 cups blueberries
Topping
  1. 1/2 cup flour
  2. 1/2 cup sugar
  3. 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  4. 1/4 cup butter
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven 350 degrees
Prepare Topping
  1. Combine dry ingredients
  2. Cut in butter till crumbly
  3. Set aside
Cake
  1. In a medium bowl stir together flour, salt and baking powder
  2. Spray 8 x 8 or 9x9 pan with non stick spray
  3. Beat sugar and shortening till fluffy
  4. Add egg and beat
  5. Alternate adding milk and flour to sugar and shortening mixture beating after each addition
  6. Spread into prepared pan
  7. Top with blueberries
  8. Sprinkle topping over blueberries
  9. Bake 45-50 minutes

    I had panicked at first, LOL! I thought, how can she show such a yummy recipe for Wordless Wednesday! My Hubby LOVES blueberries and totally wanted the recipe. I was relieved when you did post the recipe at the bottom of the post πŸ™‚ I’m so pinning this!

    OH WOW that looks totally scrumptious. I love blueberries. I never had blueberries growing up so it is a real treat for me ever since I moved to the USA. Thank you for the recipe!

    I’m not a fan of blueberry desserts that much, BUT I love the way this one looks because I’m a fan of cakey and crust-like and crumbly sweets.

    My brother-in-law has blueberry and blackberry orchards, so we get “free” fresh berries every year. I just filled a lot of freezer space with berries. Your buckle sounds amazing and a great recipe to use some of my berries.
