Milestone Birthday Celebration at Red Lobster
This is the year for “milestone” birthdays in our family….at least for three of us. Our oldest daughter turns twenty-one, our middle daughter turns eighteen and I turn….well, a milestone that says I’m old enough to have two legal adult daughters.
The first birthday of the year is our now-eighteen-year-old’s. She’s the one who brings laughter to our family and has an infectious smile. Her tender heart, sweet spirit, generosity and compassion make her a blessing to all who know her.
Her actual birthday was in mid-March but sometimes we like to stretch the celebrating out as long as we possibly can, and that’s exactly what she’s done. As is typical with our family, celebrating means people and food! She requested and Italian Cream Cake so we started off with that. She had three coupons for her favorite ice cream place so she took turns taking people for ice cream, but our biggest celebration came when her grandparents arrived and we all went to Red Lobster for dinner! Everyone was SUPER excited!
The timing was perfect…..Lobsterfest is going on, the one time of year guests can choose from the largest variety of lobster dishes on the menu! Several of us REALLY love lobster!
As we were waiting for our table, we watched as a hostesses took one of the live lobster out of the tank for a group of children to see and touch. I thought that was pretty cool.
We loved our table! In a corner, a little secluded…just enough privacy for a family celebration. The round table was great for conversation, too. As soon as our waiter came he asked if we were celebrating anything special. We told him an 18th birthday was our #lobsterworthy occasion.
Red Lobster offers lobster options on virtually every page of the menu and it didn’t take us long to decide what we wanted. In fact, some of us knew before we even got there.
Although the Caesar Salad is my favorite…..
my daughter chose the house salad with Blueberry Balsamic Dressing, which I’d never heard of before. It was delicious and she really enjoyed it.
I will refrain from disclosing the number of Cheddar Bay Biscuits we consumed. They were SOOOO GOOD!
My dad chose the Roasted Maine Lobster Bake, which is roasted split petite Maine lobster tails tossed in a white wine and garlic-butter sauce, roasted with corn and potatoes. Oh.My.Goodness! He loved it! Lobster is always amazing but the garlic-butter sauce put this over the top.
The Lobster Lover’s Dream was perfect for me. A succulent rock lobster tail and sweet split Maine lobster tail, roasted and served with lobster-and-shrimp linguini Alfredo. I have a really hard time deciding at restaurants so I love entrees that include more than one option. The Lobster Lover’s Dream did not disappoint! “Succulent” perfectly described the lobster tails and seafood pasta is one of my favorite things!
This was my son’s choice! He likes variety as much as I do and thirteen year old boys can put away some food!
Happy faces excited to dig in!
Everyone’s dish was perfect for them and by the end of the meal….we were all stuffed!
We really enjoyed the lobster!
To our surprise, our waiter (and friends) sang Happy Birthday and brought ice cream for the “birthday girl”
Which she generously shared with her sister, because that’s just how she is!
We had a wonderful time celebrating our daughter’s “milestone” birthday with family and great food!
