Time saving Tuesday - Bell PeppersAnother Time Saving Tuesday Tip…Freezing Bell Peppers

I love the beautiful colors of fresh Bell Peppers.

Although I love the color of Bell Peppers, I don’t care for the taste…nor does anyone else in our family.  I do however, have a few recipes that use them.  Since they aren’t something I purchase regularly I needed to find a way to keep them on hand so, I freeze them.

I don’t remember who I learned this from (most likely my mother-in-law) but I’ve been doing it for years and it saves me time and money.  Bell Peppers can be a little pricey at some times of the year so I watch for them to go on sale a purchase three or four.

There’s no real trick to freezing them, just wash and dry, seed, cut, place in a freezer baggie and freeze.  It’s that simple!  They don’t usually stick together when they freeze so as many or as few as needed can be removed easily and added to your recipe…no thawing required.

I don’t recommend trying to serve them in a veggie tray after they’ve been frozen, but for cooking they’re wonderful!

What a great idea! I always want to buy peppers at Costco but end up not using them all, didn’t know you could freeze them.
