Parmesan Pull Aparts
When I need a quick and easy bread to go with spaghetti or other pasta I make Parmesan Pull Aparts.
Have you ever been in the situation where you’re making a quick pasta dinner then all of a sudden you realize…..no bread! In our house, bread MUST accompany anything pasta and saucey.
These Parmesan Pull Aparts are another of “Grandma’s Recipes”. In case you’re new here….”Grandma” is NOT my grandma, she’s my mother-in-law. Grandma is what my kids call her, and so do I….although, she’s NOT old enough to be my grandmother.
Canned biscuits are the key to this quick and easy, freshly baked, garlicy deliciousness. When I was a kid, I ate canned biscuits for breakfast every morning and now it seems there’s just no end to the things you can do with them. Pull-aparts and monkey breads are very popular now but my husband’s family was making this recipe long before the days of PInterest and trending recipes.
Canned biscuits are affectionately known around our house as “whomp-’ems”. As in, “Are you making homemade biscuits or whomp-’ems?” The name comes from the process by which they’re opened…..you “whomp-’em” on the counter. For this particular batch, I used the large “Grand” type but the regular small work just as well, maybe even better. You just may need more to fill up your pan.
No matter what you call them….they’re GOOD!
Here’s the Recipe:
