Christmas

Today, I’m just sharing a brief recap of what we’ve been up to and what to expect this week…

We have a hard and fast rule here at the Carr home….We DO NOT start celebrating Christmas until AFTER Thanksgiving!  Don’t get me wrong, we LOVE Christmas.  Christmas and Easter represent the two most important events in history…one dependent on the other.  Easter, being the celebration of the Resurrection of Christ, and Christmas, His birth.  So, as a deeply committed Christian family, we understand the significance of Christmas.

BUT…

Our family also understands the importance of Thanksgiving!  We focus on spending time with family and friends, feasting and being thankful for the gifts and provisions God has given us….including Christ’s birth, death and resurrection.

Thanksgiving

We had an AMAZING time with extended family, that we hadn’t seen in six years, and enjoyed a feast beyond measure!

Thanksgiving

We didn’t plan anything special, just spending time together eating, playing games, a little shopping and watching movies.

Thanksgiving

And of course, a few pictures.

By Monday, all our family left and the Christmas celebrating began.  We have our Christmas tree up and decorated, some parties on the calendar, Christmas lists made, and a few treats in the kitchen.  This week I hope to share some of our family’s Christmas traditions and of course, that includes food and recipes!

Coming this week…

Honeycomb and Brie Crostini

Peppermint-Mocha Coffee Punch

Apple Cider Pancakes

and more….
