Mitra’s Tearoom
A couple of weeks ago my daughters and I attended a Mother/Daughter Luncheon with the other moms and daughters from our church. We went to a lovely place called Mitra’s Tearoom. I thought is was such a nice place I wanted to share it with you all.
I was having a hard time finding a place that could accommodate our group of fifteen, some adults and some children. As I was looking at another place, I stumbled across Mitra’s. I called the Antique Outlet, where Mitra’s is located, and actually spoke to Mitra, the operator of the tearoom. She was extremely helpful! She emailed me a menu so I could narrow our choices (since it was a busy day and we were a larger group) and when I called back a couple of days later it really wasn’t like “narrowing” the menu as much as it was “customizing” it. And unlike most tearooms, she has a “kid’s menu”, offering variety of sandwiches including egg salad, chicken salad, turkey, ham or PB&J. Ladies always seem to enjoy some good “girl food” like quiche and fancy salad, but it’s wonderful to have something a little more “kid friendly”… not to mention less expensive!
When we arrived the table was set beautifully for us and the atmosphere was so relaxed and inviting. She had prepared special menus with only the selections we had chosen. Ordering was as easy as circling your choice. Everything from specialty teas to dessert was listed.
The food was so yummy and beautiful, it speaks for itself…
Strawberry Hibiscus Tea
Hot rolls with homemade Strawberry Butter…
I’ve never heard of Strawberry Butter. It was so unique and delicious…I LOVED it!
One of our choices was Grilled Chicken Salad with green apple slices on top
With Tomato Basil Soup
Our second option was an “off the menu” item that Mitra prepared especially for us.
Three Cheese Bacon Quiche! Served with Soup…
I chose the Broccoli Cheese. Oh my! These were A-MAZING!!!
And then came dessert….
Banana Pudding Carrot Cake Coconut Cake Strawberry Napoleon
The desserts were heavenly but I was so full I had to bring half mine home.
All of our ladies seemed to really enjoy the atmosphere and food. My friend Esther and her girls were with us and she provided the “entertainment” for the afternoon. You can go over to her blog, Laugh With Us, and read about it. But before you do, I want you to know I was just kidding….I have been several places with her AND you can take her out.
Mitra’s was perfect for our Mother Daughter Luncheon. My daughter and I already have plans to return when Grandma comes to visit this summer.
If your in the Ft Worth area and looking for a “girly” place with great food, beautiful decor and antiques galore, I highly recommend
Mitra’s Tearoom at Antique Outlet in Hurst, TX.

I have been hunting for a tearoom in the Charlotte, NC area to have an outing for our Girlfriends Unlimited (church group). I haven’t been able to find anything like this! And it’s what I’m looking for. That strawberry butter looks so good and I would love to dive into those desserts! Looks like so much fun!

Wow! Everything looks absolutely delicious. Beyond the food, this was such a great outing idea. Even though I am in North Carolina, I will have to keep this type of idea in mind.

What amazing scenery! The good looks great too. I think there is a place downtown Wake Forest like this one too. Happy Wednesday!
