Sea Life Aquarium Grapevine, TX
*This is a sponsored post written on behave of Sea Life Aquarium but all opinions are my own
First, let me apologize for the pictures which were taken from my phone, which doesn’t have flash and people kept closing their eyes just as I took the picture…sorry.
A few weeks ago I told you about a great offer from Sea Life Aquarium Grapevine, TX. With this coupon, kids go free with the purchase of an adult ticket! Shortly after writing this post I received tickets for my family and last week we were able to go.
Aquariums have always been a favorite activity for our family. It had been a very long time since we’d been to one so we were excited to visit Sea Life. The aquarium stays open until 7:00 pm so we were able to plan our visit for late afternoon. This allowed my husband to go with us, without missing much work. We loved that! We thought it might be crowded but it wasn’t.
We enjoyed being able to leisurely stroll through the exhibits. This shark was having a relaxing afternoon, too. We saw him as we walked through the tunnel of the 360° aquarium. It was really COOL! You actually walk through the tank! Everything is made of glass…floor to ceiling. I will say, it was a little strange to take that first step onto the glass floor. This shark was under us and many other fish swam around us on all sides. It makes you feel as if you are in the tank with them…but no wet suit required.
This turtle was HUGE! He was near the front of the tank so we got a really good look at him. I don’t really know what he was doing. He stayed perfectly still in this position for a long time. I thought he might be eating but looking closer we realized he was just floating there. My kids said he looked like he was praying.
Looking for eel and sharks
Not only does Sea Life Aquarium have a wonderful variety of sea creatures to observe, they have interesting facts written on the walls throughout the exhibits.
There were some great hands on activities, but our son’s favorite was the Touch Tank.
Of course, we had to get a picture inside the shark’s mouth.
No children or sharks were injured in the taking of these pictures.
Summer’s coming and if you’re looking for something “cool” to do, the Sea Life Aquarium may be just the thing for you. Your tickets are good ALL day, so you can come and go as you please….I thought this was a great feature.
What fun activities do you have planned for the summer?

They are both at a very large mall called Grapevine Mills but Legoland and the Aquarium are separate (2 admission prices) I hear Legoland is more of an “all day” activity as the kids can stay and play as long as they like, as well as 4D theater and other hands on activities. My son is very excited about going.

This is so cool! I’ve never actually been to an aquarium- part of the downside of living in rural Idaho, I guess, but the next time we visit someplace with an aquarium we’ll have to make it a priority! I know my kids would love this!

You’ll really like it. The younger boys will enjoy playing in the play place near the end…and the touch tank. Lots of fun creatures to see!
