All American Dessert Round Up
This week we celebrate our nation’s birth! And Celebration = Food!
We Americans LOVE dessert and often the sweeter, the better. Every country has it’s own spin on dessert, usually related to the things grown naturally there. Today I’ve put together an All American Dessert Round Up featuring six desserts that may not be “unique” to American, but certainly are popular.
Most of us will probably be celebrating in some way on The 4th of July. If you haven’t yet decided on a dessert, maybe these features will help. They’re all pretty easy to make, travel well and enjoyed by most.
#1 Apple Pie just seems synonymous with summertime and baseball
#2 Redhot Patriotic Poke Cupcakes . These combine several things Americans love…cupcakes, Jello and Red Hots. Thanks to Shirley at Intelligent Domestications for allowing me to share this All American, patriotic and fun dessert.
#3 Cherry Pie It’s colorful, easy and you can take it anywhere.
#4 Chocolate Chip Cookies I looked at several “top 10” dessert lists and of course Chocolate Chip Cookies were on every one. What American hasn’t eaten their share of these? If by some reason you answered, “Not me”, I’m pretty sure my family alone has made up for you.
#5 Pound Cake, in this case, Sour Cream Pound Cake by The Simple Home. Ok, maybe this isn’t typical all across America but it sure is popular in the South!
#6 Pecan Pie…again another dessert that made all the “top 10’s” I saw. I guess we love some pie!
What’s your favorite “All American Dessert”?

The apple pie looks heavenly! I always equate the All American Dessert to apple pie or strawberry shortcake. Either would be greatly appreciated right about now. Lol.
